Safari web browser has been updated to version 5.1.1 for Windows, or Mac. Apple has now added support for their new iCloud services which stores your bookmarks and reading lists to make them available for all of your internet-connected hardware. Reading List allows you to save great content found on the internet when you're busy making it easy to return to it later when you have more time to read, watch and learn.
This is a recommended update for users of the Mac and Windows versions of the worlds best browser as Safari 5.1.1 also fixes a number of bugs affecting security, stability and compatibility including:
- Hangs and excessive memory usage related to address issues
- Improving stability when using Microsoft's Silverlight plug-in at netflix.com
- Fixes a bug that stops the Google Safe Browsing Service from updating
- Better stability when zooming in on Google maps
These are just a few of the many improvements in Safari 5.1.1 available in the latest release, this download is a 47 MB file for the Mac, and 54 MB for Windows (with Quicktime). The system requirements for Safari are: OS X Lion 10.7.2, or Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with security update 2011 -006. For the Windows side Safari 5.1.1 requires: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.
