Apple has announced the new iPhone 4S which will be available on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. The new iPhone 4S will be offered for pre-order starting on October 7, 2011 and for delivery beginning October 14, 2011 AT&T and Verizon customers can pre-order, and Sprint is listed as "coming soon" iPhone 4S contains the following features:
- Dual core processor, new A5 chip - up to 2 times faster CPU
- Dual core graphics chip - up to 7 times faster graphics
- iOS 5, and Siri voice recognition personal assistant: ask a question; get an answer
- 8 hours of 3G talk time, 6 hours web browsing, 9 hours on WiFi, 10 hours of video and 40 hours of music
- iPhone 4S maximum data speeds of 14.4 Mbps down, 5.8 Mbps up, vs 7.2 down, 5.8 up for the iPhone 4
- iPhone 4S is now a World phone, works on GSM and CDMA in one phone
- 8 megapixel camera - 60% more pixels 3264 x 2448
- 1080p HD video recording, with video image stabilization and temporal noise reduction

The iPhone 4S is priced at: $199 -16GB, $299 - 32GB, $399 - 64GB with a two year contract. The older iPhone 4 has been reduced to $99 for 8GB and the iPhone 3GS 8GB is available for FREE! with a contract.
pre-orders start October 7, 2011 in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, France, Germany, and Japan and is available beginning October 14, 2011

On October 28, 2011 iPhone 4S will be available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland - in 70 countries and over 100 carriers by the end of the year.

I'm Leaving AT&T and going to Verizon.. but Verizon will only allow Current Customers to Pre-Order 10/7/2011 and New Customers the following week.. I called Apple hoping to pre-order there & activate it at home.. but they can't add my employees discount.. : (
